Noni. On the set of her last play, an end of the world play that ended the world...
Momma... Momma... Mommy?
Momma... Mommy.
It was my Momma, Annie. We was havin' a barbecue at an apocalyptic country club. And she was stealin' fish from the pool and hiding it in my rice. And I kept telling her... vegetarians don't eat fish...
I 'member the time she fed my first pet goldfish to the family cat. And I start pukin' puddles of white rice everywhere... and there's fish in there! Little fish in the white rice. And she makes me swim in it. And I say... I'm hungry, mommy... I don't wanna exercise. And she says... Do you know what anorexia nervosa is?
Suddenly all the neighborhood children gather around the pool, cavin' in on me and the weight I have gained in my bathing suit. But it isn't weight. It's just white rice! They're eatin' peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and strawberry rhubarb pie. They don't seem to mind stuffing their bellies in their bathing suits.
I plop my fish and rice filled suit onto the concrete and drip over to the table where my mother drags me over to the campfire and shouts
"the cannibals are coming... the cannibals are coming" and all the children are rescued by their own momma and daddy.
I cry and say "help momma... help save me from the cannibals..."
But nobody is paying any attention.
Then she takes one look at me, bloated belly from barfing and everything and says "she deserves it".
Then they come. They come for me... naked, sweaty, with spears and feed me to the fire.
I will never forgive her for feedin' me to those vampires. Never.
